Treatment Programs aimed at Women Serving a Unconditional Sentence of Imprisonment in Czech Republic and Abroad Abstract The diploma thesis deals with the topic of treatment programs for women in prison. The aim of the work was to approach the issue of current treatment programs in the Opava Prison. In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis is described the female prison population and its specifics as well as selected foreign regulations and basic principles contained in international documents focused on this area, the definition and division of treatment programs, a description of the current women's prisons in the territory of the Czech Republic and the characteristics of the current standardized treatment programs in women's prisons. The diploma thesis also focuses on some selected shortcomings of treatment programs, in the last part of the theoretical work are mentioned some modern prison systems applied to women in general and to mothers in prisons. In the practical part of the work, the strategy of qualitative research, the technique of questioning and the semi-structured interview technique were chosen to determine the objectives of the work.
